Afromics was born out of a real need and a bold vision for change. The idea took root during the She Starts entrepreneurship programme at the University of Cambridge at Murray Edwards College, where it received incredible support and encouragement, marking the beginning of something far greater than imagined.

With guidance from visionary mentors and the strength of a dynamic team of co-founders, Afromics was expanded into a genomic powerhouse. Our ambition: to sequence 5 million genomes of African ancestry. But our mission goes beyond numbers. We aim to drive the next generation of discovery, diagnostics, and therapeutics, led by Africa, for the benefit of the world.
