Afromics Wins Global Health Prize at Cambridge University
Afromics has been awarded the Global Health Prize at the 2026 Wolfson Entrepreneurship Competition 2026, recognising its work to address the global gap in African genomic data.
This recognition highlights Afromics’ mission to address one of the most critical gaps in global healthcare: the underrepresentation of African genomic data in research, drug development, and precision medicine.
Winning this award reflects not only the strength of our scientific and clinical vision, but also the urgency of ensuring that African populations are meaningfully included in the future of genomics.
We are especially grateful for the opportunity to present alongside an inspiring group of founders tackling global challenges, and for the judges’ thoughtful engagement with our work.
As we continue to grow, this milestone strengthens our commitment to:
- Expanding genomic data generation across African populations
- Delivering clinically actionable insights to patients
- Enabling more inclusive drug discovery and development
